'Montezuma' was released by the University of California more than 40 years ago.

PEST & DISEASE RESISTANCE

Montezuma is very susceptible to Barley Yellow Dwarf Virus, crown rust, stem rust, and powdery mildew.

YIELD DATA

This variety has good resistance to shattering but it produces a low grain yield in most environments. Montezuma is thin stemmed and may lodge badly. Good forage may be produced in the absence of disease.
