Lima - UC-92

DEVELOPMENT

UC-92 is a composite of large lima lines 8976, 8986, 8987, and 8988 from the UC Davis lima breeding program.

BREEDING HISTORY AND DESCRIPTION

UC-92 is a bush lima which produces large, flat, white seeds.  It matures in 110 to 120 days depending on growing season temperature, soil type, and environmental conditions of the production location.

ADAPTATION

UC-92 adapts to various environments well.  It performs well in the Chico/Butte County area of the norther Sacramento Valley, the northern San Joaquin Valley counties of San Joaquin and Stanislaus, Fresno County in the southern San Joaquin, and the coastal county of Monterey.

PEST AND DISEASE RESISTANCE

UC-92 is lygus resistant, tolerant to sting damage, and nematode resistant to M. incognita race 3.

SEED CLASSES AND PRODUCTION

Classes of seed will be Breeder, Foundation, Registered, and Certified.  Foundation seed will be maintained and distribute by the University of California, Davis Foundation Seed Program.
